Roman Shade/ Valance Workroom Assistant
full time position.
Generally shifts start around am and end around pm Monday through Friday.
We do offer some flexibility to accommodate school schedules etc.
We are a small family owned and operated business.
We work right alongside you and we dont expect anything from our people that we ourselves cant deliver.
We try to make work feel relaxed and casual.
After initial training you will generally be a self starter and self paced with occasional coaching.
Roman shade and valance workroom assistants do most steps of manufacturing of functioning and non functioning roman shades in a variety of styles from hobbled to relaxed to cordless to flat shades.
We are not an assembly line workroom so you will learn every step.

html Requirements Ability to sew in a straight line Ability to cut in a straight line Ability to use single needle and serging machines Ability to read rulers and measuring tapes Ability Willingness to use power tools including saws and pneumatic stapler and tacker Ability to stand for long periods of time ability to sit for long periods of time Ability to read work orders read written instructions and actively listen to verbal instructions in English.
We currently lack the ability to accomodate translate into other languages at this time.
Critical thinking skills with the ability to adapt to change quickly Basic math skills addition subtraction multiplication and division Ability willingness to work overtime a few times a year Ability to get along with a variety of personalities Preferred Qualifications Preference will go to those with industrial sewing machine experience however we are more than willing to train the right candidate.
Basic sewing knowledge home sewing basic fabric knowledge etc is a plus Covid Precautions We require masks and prefer vaccination.
We disinfect sanitize daily.
We generally do not allow customers delivery drivers other nonemployees in the production area and there are generally fewer than people in the building at a time.
Generally speaking we also follow social distancing when possible.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
