ELECTRONICS MECHANIC (Title 32)
As a ELECTRONICS MECHANIC (Title 32), WG-2604-8/10/11, you will:
This is not an all-inclusive list The primary purpose of this position is to perform field and limited sustainment maintenance and repair on a variety of complex electronics equipment and complete operational systems. Performs functional tests, analyzes performance and malfunctions, removes, installs, tests, maintains, modifies, performs alignments and troubleshoots the electronic, electrical, mechanical and hydraulic assemblies, modules, and interconnecting cables of a variety of combat and tactical equipment. Utilizes Integrated Family Test Equipment (IFTE), Built In Test Equipment (BITE) and break out boxes (BOB) for fault isolation, verification, or adjustment of assemblies and modules. Performs Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) operations for fault isolation on LLM electronic modules, circuit cards, and assemblies to component level. Replaces faulty components on UUT printed circuit boards and power distribution systems. Troubleshoots and repairs launch pod/container (LP/C), trainer rocket simulator modules, Missiles/Launchers Pod Assembly (M/LPA), trainer missile simulator modules, and various like items. Troubleshoots carrier electrical and power distributions systems as an integrated subsystem of the weapon system or equipment being repaired. Installs equipment modifications to system per technical work orders. Performs initial and final checks and may perform inspections when required of designated systems. Performs field and limited sustainment maintenance to include installation, routine maintenance, repair, and overhaul of fixed and mobile operational communication and electronics systems. Uses various types of test equipment to include systems test sets. Interprets complex schematic diagrams. Installs and applies equipment modifications when directed. Must exercise a high degree of judgment regarding methods and procedures for completing assignments, which may involve extending the use of conventional tools and equipment and improving changes to techniques, and procedures to reach specified parameters when factors such as temperature extremes, aging of equipment, or modification of circuits have changed operating conditions. Experience or training which demonstrates the applicants knowledge of electrical or electronic theory, knowledge of common testing procedures, skill in the use of hand tools of the electronics trade, and skill in reading schematics. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
WG-08 requires 12 months of experience or training in utilizing principles, basic functions and application of theory of electronic systems or equipment. Experience in diagnosing problems and determining needed repairs for malfunctions in electronic equipment or systems. Experience in using hand tools, power tools and gauges to make intricate repairs. Experience in using diagnostic and testing equipment. Experience which demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications, and publications. WG-10/11 requiress 36 months of specialized experience or training in utilizing principles, basic functions and application of theory of electronic systems or equipment. Experience in diagnosing problems and determining needed repairs for malfunctions in electronic equipment or systems. Experience in making mechanical repairs that required the use of precision measuring and calibrating equipment. Experience in using complex test equipment such as deviation meters, complex special test panels, etc. Experience which demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications, and publications. Selecting supervisor will determine the hiring grade based on current skills.
