Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist, GS-1640-12/13 (DE/CR)

As a Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist, you will perform the following duties:
Serve as technical representative for the National Weather Service (NWS) Western Region, and conduct facilities design, planning, management, maintenance and repair, and grounds-maintenance. Participate in the planning and design of new projects including preparing, monitoring, reviewing, updating, and reporting on project plans, schedules, and Statements of Work for minor construction projects; and determining the total budgetary requirements to support the assigned facilities operations. Serve as an on-site inspector responsible for conducting close-up inspections of all facilities including buildings, roads, utilities, and major equipment; preparing condition reports; and ensuring compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety requirements, and other federal laws. Manage, train, evaluate, counsel, and plan and assign work for NWS personnel, and oversee the work of assigned contractor personnel. NOTE:
The duties are at the full performance level and the GS-12 duties are developmental leading to such performance at the GS-13 level. Experience:
Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government.Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify at the GS-12:

Applicants must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 in the Federal service. Specialized experience MUST include all of the following:
Conducting facilities planning, maintenance, and repair; Conducting inspections of a facility's buildings, utilities, and equipment; and Overseeing personnel performing facilities-related work.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
