ADOLESCENT RECREATIONAL THERAPIST

Job Description
West Ridge Academy provides both Day Treatment and Residential Treatment to adolescents with mental and/or behavioral health issues. Our recreational therapist is responsible to oversee daily recreational therapy groups for clients in both Day and Residential Treatment
Responsibilities
Responsible to create a recreational therapy curriculum that will help clients to process through various mental health and behavioral issues and to give clients healthy coping mechanisms and new accomplishments.
Facilitate daily recreational groups with both Day Treatment and Residential clients. Groups may sometimes include parents/families and/or staff members.
Arranges outside recreational activities and opportunities as appropriate and as directed by supervisor.
Work with therapists, academic facilitator, and other staff to ensure the academic and clinical progress of clients.
Maintains timely, accurate, and professionally written documentation of all therapeutic interaction.
Willingly fulfills other responsibilities as necessary when assigned by the Day Treatment Therapist or Clinical Director
Qualifications
Requires a bachelor's degree in therapeutic recreations and a license/certification to practice from the National Council of Therapeutic Recreation Specialists.
Minimum 3 years professional experience as a recreational therapist.
Previous experience working with adolescents, especially within the mental health field, preferred.
Must have a working knowledge of a variety of sports, arts & crafts, team building activities, leisure activities and processing techniques.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
